Kenzie

Our little Princess Kenzie was born on May 18 at 8:55 in the morning. She weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 19.34 inches. Birth Story: Back in April I was told that I had a complete Placenta Previa and I knew that I would have to have her at 37 weeks. I was also told that if I had any bleeding that I needed to go to the hospital right away because the CPP is very dangerous. It means that my placenta is covering the cervix and if the placenta was to be delivered first, it is very bad for baby. And any bleeding means I can be dialiating and that is a bad thing for me to go into labor on my own. Anyway, I had 2 apts a week. An ultrasound on Tuesdays and a NST on Fridays. The ultrasound was to see if the placenta had moved so that I didn't need to have an ultrasound and the NST was to check her breathing. I loved being able to see her each Tuesday. The Placenta wasn't moving. Well, we scheduled a C-Section for May 21. My last day at work was supposed to be May 15th but on May 10 I came home from work and I was just miserable. My feet were so swollen, my head hurt, I was having horrible cramping so Danny said that I was not going to go back to work. I was to stay home that week and rest. I am so glad that I have a store manager who was willing to let me off a few days early and co workers who covered my shifts. So I had a week of being bored at home resting. On Friday the 16th I went to the Dr. for my NST and I was having A LOT of contractions. I was not feeling them all but some. What was normally a 15 minute apt turned into over an hour as they were watching the contractions. Finally the Dr said that they were not consistant enough and let me go home. He said take it easy, don't go far from home and he hoped I made it to the 21. Saturday the 17th- We had Hailey's last soccer games in the Valley. She had 3 games, 2 back to back and one a couple of hours later. I took her and then in between games we went to the mall. After soccer we went to Danny's parents for dinner. I had been feeling good that day. A little tired but not really having any contractions or cramping. Came home, cleaned the house a little and went to bed. Sunday the 18th- I woke up at 6 went to the bathroom and there was some bleeding. I woke up Danny, I said I think we are having a baby today. He said ok. wake me up at 730. A few minutes later I went to the bathroom again and there was a lot more blood and a huge blood clot. I yelled for Danny and said, we don't have time to wait till 730, call your parents now. So he called his parents to come over. in the meantime, I am finishing packing my bag, making a list of things the girls need to do that day and trying not to freak out. Finally it was time to leave. We got to the hospital right after 7. I got checked in and soon I was in a labor room. Then I was getting IV's inserted and blood drawn. Next thing I know, Danny is getting scrubs on, I am in the OR getting a spinal block inserted and then I am laying down being cut open. It happened so fast. At 8:55 Kenzie Rashelle was born. She is perfect. She was born at 36 weeks 6 days.
